Taking A Breath

I sit here tonight and I just read my friend Anneliese's blog (she is on my blog roll) and I cried at the sweet things she wrote about moving her Mom into an apartment. I loved the line that said "nothing is sweeter than the sound of the garage door opening" - so true. Right now there is so much blogging catching up to do, but I wanted to write about the emotion of my son growing up! He is such an amazing young man and we are so very proud of him. Everything is happening so fast. It just seems like yesterday when I posted the pics of his Dad showing him how to shave and now he has his first truck and his Dad will be showing him how to do his first oil change. Man time flys. We just celebrated his 16th birthday and he got his first job and starts his junior year on Monday at a new high-school. I had to sit and take a breath and just relish this moment. Each one is precious!!
I will blog more soon and post pics of all that we have been up too. But for now I am just taking a breath.

New Kitchen

So this week my family has been gone to Summer camp and it is the first time in 20 years that I did not go, I was on a mission to complete our kitchen remodel. This is the week in review and we still need to finish the crown molding on top and I need to finish antiquing the cabinets. However, I have a beach, shamu and mickey mouse waiting for me and I will finish these details soon. I feel so incredibly blessed!! Thank you to all who made this week happen, I could not have done it without you.

of going on this retreat and being the chef for 27 awesome people!

Our Peru Team

Tubing The Salt River

I have not done this in forever!! My adventurous friend Dy got us all together to have some relaxing time on the river. It was so cool because the river was clean, it had just opened for the season and the fresh snow water flowed and there was no one there but us. That is the way I like to tube ya know.

A Girls Morning

I am grateful that my mom and sister and I all live in the same area so we can carve out special times together. They came to my home for breakfast and movie. A memory making day!

A Good Cry

Sometimes you just need to have a good ole fashioned cry! You know what I mean?
I don't cry very often, but it is renewing when I do, I just feel better. So why did I cry............
1. Just when I think whew we don't have a car payment, we may need to have one.
2. My kids are growing up and it makes me sad. I mean I am thrilled for them and that they are growing up to be amazing young adults who want to serve God and that they love HIM. I am just preparing my heart for an empty house as they prepare to go off to college in the next few years and now that Breanna has a job, she can only take so much time off and family vacation might not be one of them. Oh responsiblity huh? Jared will also be getting a job this summer and then a car and then, well he is just growing up. My baby!!!
3. My Mom and her hubby have been doing construction to their house and my mom is tired and I worry about her. She is so awesome and my best friend and I just want her to have it done and be able to rest and enjoy it.
4. I miss my dad and wonder if he misses me. I never hear from him and I am sad about it. And when I call him, he doesn't seem to have time for me and then my heart gets hurt once again. He doesn't even know his amazing grandkids. Mine and my sister's kids, they are all so awesome and it makes me sad that he is not a part of their lives.
So there you have it my vunerable heart on a platter. But there is SO MUCH I am thankful for ................
1. My amazing husband, who I adore and love so much and who is truly my soulmate and I am so very excited to spend a week with him in June is SanDiego, we are going to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary going to Seaworld, Disneyland, shopping, eating, laughing, laying on the beach etc. Can't wait!!!
2. My job, I enjoy it and I am so thankful for it. The Pampered Chef is such a blessing.........as well as my side catering business.
3. Our church, I love Cornerstone!! We are so jazzed to have the student team moving forward. God is going to do some amazing things through it in the coming years!!
4. My sweet family and friends - all of them!!
5. And so much more!!!!
